For our OLED users, the main changes in V4.1.4 are:
-- Removal of the annoying limit to the number of files per folder that was introduced with the OLED Deluge firmware. Fixing this was harder than you might expect!
-- You're again always allowed to type characters even if no such file exists - just like on the numeric Deluge.
-- Some visual fixes on the OLED display
-- Fixed obscure glitch which could occur on audio clips in LINKED pitch mode.
And for our numeric Deluge users, you're catching up to a few firmware versions worth of updates, so there are a few changes that hadn't been available on numeric Deluges until now:
-- You can now open songs saved with V4.1.x firmware, i.e. on an OLED Deluge.
-- But, to reiterate the point above because it's important, songs saved with V4.1.x cannot be read by older firmware versions.
-- Fixed a memory fragmentation problem that was slowing down performance and causing audio/voice dropouts when many audio files (e.g. multisampled instruments) had been loaded since power-on.
-- Loading a sample as “BASIC” now resets that oscillator’s transpose.
-- Note - files and presets might appear in a slightly different order if you have both "old-style" numbered files (e.g. SONG001) and also named files which also have a number at the start (e.g. "03 My Song"). This is just sort of a side effect of the code overhaul to support the OLED display, which hopefully won't cause too much inconvenience to anyone.
