I am helping a member on Electro-music.com to help spread the word on this project for cloning Waldorf Q and Microwave XT owners who are keen on the voice expansion modules. Please read on ...
I have been looking for voice expansion modules for my Q-Rack, they are hard to find now and the Waldorf distributors are tapped out.
A company in the U.S. called Encore Electronics That is willing to produce a lot of 50 or more units or thesis, but there are four caveats:
1 - Confirmed 50 to 100 or more buyers
2 - AQ synthesizer and an expansion module to reverse engineer.
3 - Development lead time of about 3 months.
4 - Module price estimate is around $ 375.

In talking with the Waldorf Tech, the compatability chart is below:
The XT series (including XTK) all use Motorola 56303 DSP voice.
The Q series is more complicated, the first run of Yellow Qs used a Motorola 56303 also.
This Means only the oldest Q expansion modules with Motorola 56303 DSP are compatible with all XT series and Early Q (V1) Mainboards.
The Motorola DSP was changed in later Yellow Qs (V2) to 56362. This is why the newer expansion (V2) will not work and will damage the mainboard V1 or a Q or any XT / XTK mainboard.
The V2.x (Motorola 56362) expansionism version will work in all 2.x and 3.x Q mainboards (including the Micro Q).
